About the Job
Responsible for soliciting, managing, and enhancing the existing carrier base through developing solid relationships with carriers. Attain growth and development of customer accounts through exceptional customer service while seeking prospects, processing orders, and fulfilling customer needs.
Roles & Responsibilities
o Develop existing carrier base by building relationships
o Have thorough understanding of carriers and equipment portfolio
o Document and retain relevant carrier information
o Oversee carrier rate negotiation
o Collaborate with Director of Carrier Development to follow up on leads and onboard new carriers
o Book available loads based on commitment and required needs
o Arrange the pick-up and delivery of loads with carriers
o Track inbound and outbound freight
o Leverage loads that come to and from other markets to build relationships
o Resolve any issues that arise in the execution of delivering the load
o Communicate with customers, carriers, manager, and team members
o Understand needs of existing customer base
o Research market to locate, secure, and grow new customer base
o Adapt to market sensitivities
o Provide reporting as requested by the customer
Qualifications
o Minimum of HS Diploma/GED. Associates degree, Bachelors in Logistics or Supply Chain Management preferred
o 0-3 years experience
o Computer literate, including Microsoft Office Suite
o Willing to learn
o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
o Quality-driven and results-oriented
o Team player with a can-do attitude
o Regular attendance is essential
o An excellent communicator, both written and oralEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
